NG-SEQ-5 vs Z-SEQ-5
Both use GearMotive’s proven sequential gear technology. The NG-SEQ-5 adds a stronger front housing, stronger bearing options and a modular front end designed for engine fitment flexibility and easier servicing.

Removable bellhousing
A separate, removable bellhousing makes the front end modular and easier to service.
Removable engine fitment
Adapt the gearbox to different engines with a removable engine fitment. More fitments will follow.
Three mounting angles
0°, 20° or 30° with the BMW M50–S50 series engine fitment. This option is specific to that fitment.
Easier clutch access
Leave the engine fitment, starter motor and hard-to-reach upper engine bolts in place when accessing the clutch.
Clutch access without disturbing the engine fitment
With a conventional removable-bellhousing gearbox, clutch access still requires removing the gearbox and bellhousing from the engine — including the hard-to-reach upper bolts. With NG-SEQ-5, separate the bellhousing from the engine fitment instead.

The reinforced GearMotive front housing provides improved housing strength and bearing support while maintaining a compact overall package.

Modular Engine Fitment
One of the biggest changes in the NG-SEQ-5 is the new modular engine fitment system. The same core gearbox can now be adapted to different engines.

Easier servicing: access the clutch while leaving the engine fitment and starter motor in place, or remove only the gearbox with the complete bellhousing left on the engine.
The BMW M50 version retains the familiar bolt-on concept for replacing a ZF gearbox.

Removable Bellhousing
The removable, engine-specific bellhousing system makes gearbox installation, removal and servicing easier, without permanently welded bellhousings.
- Compact, low-profile design
- BMW OEM-style clutch fork or compatible hydraulic release bearing (for example Tilton 0-, 1- and 8000-series)
- Retain your existing flywheel and clutch in most applications, subject to compatibility
- Remove the gearbox with the bellhousing and clutch release system left in place
High-profile flywheels may require a compact hydraulic release bearing for clearance.
